Mad Dog McCree - PlayStation 3 - Arcade Playthrough One Credit Clear [Soon to be delisted] [4K60]
Full gameplay longplay, playthrough, walkthrough & trueplay from the PSN release of Mad Dog McCree. A HD port of the classic 90s lightgun arcade shooter that uses PlayStation Move, that was one of the pioneers of the genre. That used real video footage to create the illusion of the player being a gunslinger in the old west. This PlayStation 3 version is a digital only release and is an upgraded version of the Wii collection. This feels quite improved on the Wii version and is by far the best way to play the series now.
If you walked into most arcades in the early 90s you may well have seen a big cabinet version of the original Mad Dog McCree. It was a sight to behold and a joy to play and watch as the cast of the game brought the wild west theme to life. Special mentions have to go to Ben Zeller as the old prospector and Carol Erson as the undertaker who most players became all to familiar with far to quickly. It wasn't without it's flaws and it was clear why laser disc games disappear from arcade. The biggest issues being the fact that the window to shoot enemies wasn't always clear and often you only had a second or two. Some were also totally hidden, such as the window gunman in the coral scene and events such as shooting the chimney. The game also punishes players who continue with a life or death duel, that forces you to continue again if you lose. The only major oversight in this version is the arcade attract demo and credits are missing and the practice bottle shoot section is only on the easy mode.
What was unique about Mad Dog McCree was that the game has a few random elements and would play slightly differently each time you inserted a credit. The hints for getting into the old mine and the location of how to enter Mad Dog McCree base are some of the random elements that can change. While Mad Dog McCree helped the lightgun genre hugely it was surpassed by later games such as Lethal Enforcers, Time Crisis and Virtua Cop.
This PlayStation 3 version is the best version to date and will be delisted on the 2nd of July 2021 along its sequels Mad Dog II: The Lost Gold, The Last Bounty Hunter and Fast Draw Showdown.
