[READ DESCRIPTION]

{EDIT} I just looked it up, and the original song was actually done by a band called Tears for Fears. Gary Jules did he particular cover.

So, I completely fell in love with this instrumental about a week ago, and when I saw the lyrics, I loved it even more. So I decided to do a cover of it. I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out, considering I only did it in one take. ;)

So this song actually has a story attached to it: see, listening to this song reminded me greatly of Majora's Mask, and it got me thinking about the possible connections it could have. What came to mind is the fact that Termina is, in fact, a very mad world. During this three day span, the people are constantly running around, doing crazy things...but with no purpose. There is absolutely no point in doing any of it, because the world is going to end. And besides that, a cloud of melancholy just surrounds this land...everyone from Anju to the Deku Princess seems to be suffering in some kind of way. And no one seems to be aware that doomsday is near except for a very few, one of whom is the Skull Kid, the mastermind behind the crisis. But even though he is consumed by evil, I've always viewed the Skull Kid as a character to be pitied. He is merely a child who has had his innocence ripped away from him, yet still wants a friend to love and notice him. So I started to imagine this as the Skull Kid singing a ballad to Termina with a message similar to Macbeth's "Tomorrow and tomorrow" speech: everything in this mixed-up world is empty and meaningless, since it is all going to end anyway. The second part of the song could also be him talking about his feelings of loneliness as a child misunderstood by society. So yeah, it's pretty heavy, but I just love the Skull Kid so much that I can't pass up an opportunity to make a story for him.

Anywho, this beautiful instrumental was done by Tamas Petro. Here's the link to it: https://soundcloud.com/tamaspetro/mad-world

I OWN NOTHING EXCEPT MY VOICE.
