Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon becomes a singer
Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon started her music career with the Lady Gaga reference song.
Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon started her music career with her first single, Lock&Key, which was a reference to Lady Gaga. The 25-year-old model released the song on August 24 under the name Lolahol.
The Eartheater co-produced the single, with Leon's soft vocals combined with experimental electro rhythms, resulting in a fast-paced nightclub piece, The Independent reported.
"No sleep, next plane, no sleep, makeup, next club, next car, next plane, no sleep, no fear," Leon sings in the song.
The lyrics seem to be a reference to the Bad Romance singer's response to an old interview to describe her work ethic and lifestyle:
"No sleep, bus, club, another club, another club, plane, next place, no sleep, no fear."
Gaga and Madonna have a complicated history. In 2011, some of Madonna's fans accused Gaga of copying the 1989 song Express Yourself on the 2011 Born This Way.
Madonna touched on the controversy in an interview with ABC in 2012, saying that Gaga's song "feels reductive".
However, the two later put an end to rumors that they were at odds with an Instagram photo of them hugging at Madonna's post-Oscars party in 2019.
Leon is Madonna's only child from her ex-girlfriend Carlos Leon. Madonna also has two sons, Rocco Ritchie, 22, and David Banda, 16, with her ex-husband, director Guy Ritchie; They have 16-year-old Mercy and 10-year-old twin daughters named Estere and Stella.
Lock&Key is Leon's first solo work. Leon previously collaborated with his mother on his 2012 track Superstar.
