So most of this stage is really just the weird Mega Man 9 Gravity moving you downwards. Thus, it's kinda like an autoscroller where there's not a whole lot of time to save in the stage. All the time depends on the Quint fight...which has 42 HP for some reason. All you really need to do is hit him with your charge shots as soon as you can. But to do this, you're also gonna need to hope for a bit of good RNG so that he doesn't jump away as soon as you have a charge shot ready. I also make use of Blast Wind as a way of controlling when I take damage. It sucks when you get knocked back as soon as you have a charge shot ready. So you should Blast Wind right around the middle of your charge, if possible.

I tried all sorts of stuff with Beat and Beat Saber, but in the end, I don't think they're worth it. While Beat pretty much hits Quint as soon as he leaves i-frames, he only does 1 damage which ends up having lower DPS than charge shots. Charge shots' DPS also has a fair bit of leniency, it seems. Even if you don't shoot the charge shots as soon as they're charged, their DPS is still higher than spamming lemons. And unfortunately, this isn't MaGMML2 where Quint takes 2 damage from half-charged shots.

Beat Saber is a little more tempting, but in the end, I just don't think it's worth it. The triple slash combo only deals 1 damage per slash which is not worth it considering a charge shot does 3. The regular slash, the WideSword combo, and the LongSword combo all deal 3 damage, so it's basically the same as a charge shot, and I'm not willing to give up buster only status for that. Now there's the elemental slash combo. If you manage to hit with all four slashes, you still only deal 5 damage to Quint because his damage table is 2/1/1/1 for Flame Mixer, Rain Flush, Spark Shock, and Search Snake respectively. So not only do you need to input the combination which is really hard, you need to hope for Quint to stay still, and you need to not die in the process. Seeing as how Mega Man needs to take a while to slash, I just don't think it's worth it in the end.

This run beats the previous buster only record, PineappleDerp's 1:18.299, an improvement of 362 frames (or 6.033 seconds). This run also beats the previous normal record, Kebappa's 1:15.920, an improvement of 219 frames (or 3.650 seconds). Odd that their run isn't on the buster only leaderboard. They must've used Beat Saber. I don't completely blame them. Beat Saber does make it a little easier to hit Quint. For improvements, about the only thing would be a better Quint fight. I guess you could gain marginal amounts of time in the stage from shooting yourself towards the edge of a ledge so that you're a little bit closer to the ledge when you land. You can gain like a few pixels off of this probably which can save tiny amounts of frames so long as you can turn right around and slide when you land.
