[Mage] Daggerfall Unity [22] | Disciple of Arkay | The Cursed Weapon | The Great Evil
Welcome back to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, a role-playing game originally made by Bethesda for the MS Dos. For this playthrough, we are using the Unity remake of the game and a lot of mods to enhance the experience. The game involves navigating the sensitive political landscape of the Illiac Bay, a region of Tamriel on the fictional planet of Nirn comprising of the countries within the bay as well as the various fragmented powers surrounding it on both High Rock and Hammerfell. We have been sent to the place on a mission by our Emperor Uriel Septim VII to investigate two curious instances, the shade of King Lysandus that roams the streets of Daggerfall at night and a letter that he sent to the Queen of Daggerfall a few years ago that never reached her. Despite being a dungeon crawler at heart, Daggerfall places a lot of emphasis upon the player's individual exploration as choosing one among the various political factions in the region as they navigate the complex mess that is the Illiac Bay. In this playthrough, we will be playing as a Spellcaster and will shift our focus towards the Mages' Guild and the Order of Arkay.
Deciding to press his investigation concerning Menevia forward, Strangeblood tracks down an establishment of the Order of Arkay within the province in Tunwick and completes more quests for them in hopes of gaining some inkling of information about what is drawing him towards this particular region.
Beginning with that, he is given the first quest of delivering a cursed weapon to Tricerlath, a dungeon in Menevia. It is a broadsword this time around and as usual, the Orsimer were hunting for it.
Strangeblood did not have to dwell too deep into the dungeon to find the woman that he was looking for and promptly handed the broadsword over to her for safekeeping, forsaking any and all safety and concern about the tiny woman in the process. Perhaps, if they took better care of where they kept evil weapons, they'd be able to protect them better and Strangeblood would have to complete fewer devlier jobs that way.
Anyhow, Strangeblood's second task was to destroy a holy dagger of Great Evil in The Chrystona Coven. Strangeblood went to the dungeon and had to explore most part of the dungeon before chancing upon the Unholy Dagger. But before he was about to destroy it, it turned into a beautiful woman who offered him a bribe of boots to not continue with its destruction. However, Strangeblood is a man of great integrity and he outright refused to do so. That was when the woman turned out to be a Daedra Seducer and after a short battle, Strangeblood defeated her. Upon turning around to teleport, Strangeblood found himself being ambushed by denizens from Oblivion. He teleported back in time, however, he brought some of the denizens along with him, primarily Spiders and a Gargoyle.
He dispatched of them and secured his position as a Disciple within the Order of Arkay.
Here is how Strangeblood became a Disciple of Arkay:
