Magical Taruruuto-kun is a game based off a manga series from the early 90s. This is a platformer that's often been compared to Super Mario Bros. 3 because of its overworld maps, but to be honest, there's not much else that resembles it save for it also being a platformer. Our little hero Taruruuto uses his tongue to attack enemies and eat takoyaki, or octopus balls. Those takoyaki serve as currency you can use to buy various items to help you in the levels. It's a pretty fun game, but the final world is extremely lazy, because it just contains a repeat of levels previously seen throughout the game. This is a much better game than its own numbered sequel for Famicom. This video also contains a secret Easter egg never previously seen for nearly 30 years. Overall, solid game; good, but not great.
