If Petey is on the ground, he will do his normal thing for 180 frames (3 seconds) before doing his fire attack. Starting in 4.0.0, Petey was given a 480 frame (8 second) limit that would force him to do his fire attack, slam, and leave if he couldn't do it normally. I'm not sure what scenario this limit was added for considering, at a fall speed of 3, Petey would go from the top blast line of Palutena's Template to the bottom blast line more than twice before reaching that limit. However in this video he appears to have a falling speed of around 79 or more (either the parameter is for something else or the check is broken); this makes it even more improbable to experience this.
