Note, infinite energy cheat used for this video, as it is meant to demonstrate the c-chip emulation working, not me being good at the game.

Caps0ff continued their work on the Taito c-chips by decapping and reading out the data from the one found on Operation Wolf. This is arguably the most protected of the C-chip games, and the one where the c-chip was used for a lot of subtle gameplay features.

Bryan McPhail hooked up the c-chip emulation in MAME using the code I'd authored for hooking up the previous games (Rainbow Islands etc.) allowing for the old simulation to be retired.

As you can see in the video, the various events associated with the c-chip function as expected, including the cutscene for 'The Enemy has Located You' as well as the hostage boss in the Jungle, the Ammunition camp explosion, the camera moving up towards the end of the concentration camp level, and the enemy helicopters before the boss; the latter of which was still broken even with the most recent iteration of the simulation.

This means that any protection related behavior in Operation Wolf should now be 100% identical to the original game as the original code is being used.

This progress is in MAME 0.201
