Manipulate RNG for Golem at the Auction House (Final Fantasy VI, SNES Classic)
1,300There's a way to guarantee that the item up for auction at in Jidoor is the Golem Magicite. This trick works in the World of Balance and requires the Sprint Shoes to be equipped, but it basically manipulates the RNG in such a way that you will know when Golem is for sale at the auction.
Rapidly enter and exit the auction house with BUFFERED directional inputs. That is, as soon as you exit the auction house, hold UP to re-enter, then when you enter, HOLD DOWN to exit. You're going to do this over and over with the Sprint Shoes on.
While this is happening, each time you exit the auction house, there will be an NPC lady who takes ONE step every time you exit and re-enter. If those SINGULAR steps are UP, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, then immediately start the auction upon re-entry.
If you did everything correctly, the next item up for auction will be the Golem esper. This will save you a TON of time if you're looking for it. Trying to find it the normal way (by restarting the auctions over and over) can take hours.
