A brief look at a March 24th, 2009 build of the PSP version of Star Wars Battlefront III which would later be renamed "Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron" following the cancellation of Free Radical's version and Rebellion's next-gen version.

The differences between this build and the release build (dated April 23rd, 2009 despite releasing in November 2009) are fairly minor and are mostly relegated to simply changing the game's title. Here is a list of every difference I've noticed between this build and the release build:

- The game is known as Star Wars Battlefront III in the menus, and this is reflected in the main menu.
- The game's logo is present on the load screens. Instead of swapping out the logo for Elite Squadron's, Rebellion opted to remove it entirely.
- The default music played in the main menu is Sail Barge Assault from Return of the Jedi rather than Battle of the Heroes. This track was also used in the main menu of Renegade Squadron.
- The conquest tutorial video is uncut and includes three extra lines, one of which refers to the mode as "Battlefront 3 conquest mode". The beginning portion of the video was trimmed in the release build.
- One lightsaber swinging animation was tweaked in the final build
- The in-game stats screen has two extra UI elements extending from the score bar, one colored blue for your team and one red for the enemy team. These look very out of place and may be remnants of a previous menu design. These were removed from the release build.
- The credit video is different. Instead of using plain blue text for the game's name, the Star Wars Battlefront III logo is used. Additionally, the GameSpy logo is not present near the end of the credits.
- The Galactic Conquest opening crawl videos are uncropped in the March build.
- The campaign opening crawl videos are different in this build. These opening crawls refer to the game as "Battlefront 3" and have different names for each act of the story which are listed below:
- Act 1: A Splintered Legion
- Act 2: Rise of the Nemesis
- Act 3: The Lurking Doom
