MARDEK is a retro-inspired RPG set in a lore-heavy world that blends together fantasy and sci-fi. Its initially lighthearted story soon evolves into a deeper exploration of moral ambiguity, told through a whole lot of dialogue both thought-provoking and ridiculously silly.

I am playing the Nineveh Mod, a fan-made mod that retools the game, adding new skills and equipment, tweaking enemies and generally sprucing up a lot of graphical elements.

The Zombie Actor fight got two major changes. For one, Bartholio and Aalia now have skillsets! Well, Aalia does, anyhow. She gets an expanded kit with more utility. Bartholio is stuck with Power Attack, Power Defence and Glorious Pose. Luckily Mardek should be quite powerful by now, and Elwyen can be quite strong too if the player has been raising her well.

The Zombie Actor now has Haste and alternates between its Vanilla actions and a mysterious man's powerful magics... Hm, who could it be?! As a funny fake-out, the mystery man will also turboheal the Zombie mid-fight, and will start grinning as the fight comes to an end. Who could it be?!

And so the mod comes to a close! Alas, pity!
