A lot of you have been asking for a walkthrough of the latest version of Mario Forever. The latest version at the time of making this video, 16th of April 2013, is 6.0, but the game was probably updated after all these years, so you may notice some differences between the video and the latest version currently out there. Anyway...the game has remained largely unchanged, with just some eye-candy added, like clouds, stars, suns and an occasional sign giving basic instructions like "press down to go through pipes", etc. All the levels are the same and no secret areas have been added. Some bonus rounds were inserted in worlds 1, 2 and 3, but no world after that has these. In each of these worlds there's a large gold coin hidden somewhere. Collect it and before you move on to the next level there will be an icon of Mario's head on the map screen which you can click on and it takes you to the bonus round where the goal is to click on all the yellow stars you see in the background. This may seem ridiculously easy in world 1, but in worlds 2 and 3 the challenge picks up, as the stars now fly away when you move your cursor over them, so you have to be really precise and skilled with your mouse to chase them around. You have a limited number of clicks, so if you click when the cursor is not over a star, it counts as a miss ! If you run out of clicks, the bonus round ends and it's on to the next level. If you manage to click on all of them you're awarded with 3 extra lives. You have the option of skipping the bonus level entirely and going straight to the next regular level by pressing the jump button on the map screen instead of clicking on the bonus icon. Keep in mind that if you skip the bonus round you can't go back and replay it if you change your mind, which is a bit of a problem because the bonus icon doesn't show up as soon as the map screen appears - it only appears when the map stops moving - so if you're not careful, or you forget about it, you can accidentally skip the bonus round by pressing the jump key out of instinct. I think the bonus levels should be made so that you must go through them no matter what, or at least have some sort of warning or message to let you know that it comes up next. Most of the time I completely forgot I grabbed the bonus coin when I beat the main level, so I'd just press the button not looking at the map, only to realize the bonus icon showed up way too late, after the game had already taken my command to start the next level. The level editor has also been improved and you can now play the levels you've created directly through the game, instead of having to use "Mario Worker" to edit and play them. The glitch which caused the game to freeze in the "Hardcore Worlds" has also been fixed - if you recall, in version 4.0, when you died anywhere in "Hardcore Worlds", the game freezes and would not restart the level, forcing you to quit the game, essentially giving you only one chance of making it through the entire world ! Not much else can be said...it's the same Mario Forever we all know and love, just with some key improvements and bug fixes. Try it out ! It's actually a very fun game !
