Mario Kart 64 Comparison (Nintendo 64 vs Wii VC vs Wii U VC)
This time I compare the N64, Wii and Wii U versions of Mario Kart 64.
The Wii VC version has inconsistent frame rates in multiplayer, but that was in the original game as well. Wii U VC seems to be have more consistent frame rates in Wii U VC. Neither VC versions are faithful to the colors of the original game since both dim the brightness of the game. Ghost data can't be saved in either VC version due to the controller paks not being supported.
The Wii VC version dims the colors of the game just like Super Mario 64 did. The sound quality is different. Some of the graphics have been altered. (The waterfall in Koopa Troopa Beach, the Train, etc). When the lightning bolt is used, the sky doesn't flash like it did in the original game. (I'm not sure why the brightness of the game had to be dimmed even though they edited the flash). The timer font is different.

The Wii U VC version is also dark as well. The graphics that have been altered in Wii VC were changed back to how they were in the N64 version. The sound quality is still different in this version. The screen flashes like it did in the original when the lightning bolt is used. (Although its not as bright.) The timer front is fixed from the Wii version.
