Super Smash Bros N64 Comparison (Nintendo 64 vs Wii VC)
Showing the differences between Super Smash Bros on the N64 and the Wii Virtual Console version that I can find.
The Wii VC's intro goes off sync and falls behind the N64's version. In Mario and Donkey Kong's Target and Platform stages, the Red tiles are darker in the Wii VC verison. (Although in Luigi's Platform stage there's one red tile that's the correct color, so I'm not sure why the rest of the tiles couldn't have been the correct color). Also, you can't skip the stage introduction for some strange reason. Apparently the game also seems to have frameskips at times. I think they also dimmed the title screen on Wii VC. The Rumble Pak is not supported in this version.
Also, I have no clue why Nintendo didn't release this game for the Wii U VC on the e-shop. I guess we will never know.
Overall, Wii VC is a decent way to play the original since it does correctly emulate the transitions, stage clear screen, as well as the magnifying glass effect.
