Mario Kart 8 - Apr 26 15 B
Regarding requests: Do you guys really want me to use the Golden Glider that bad that you're always asking for my Coin count? Or is it because I'm getting decently close to that number?
In any case, here I chose whomever I felt like again.
Race #5
Mario Circuit
As in the Möbius strip course, which I think some of you haven't seen in a while. Well, besides in Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U. There were 4 votes for Mario Circuit, 5 votes for GBA Cheese Land, 2 votes for N64 Yoshi Valley, and one vote for Random, which suggests to me that some of the people in this room are tiring of the DLC 2 courses, or at least want to play on all of the courses rather than just the eight new ones. Here, I show that I now have the Sonic racing outfit, so you can request that too if you'd like. (The racing outfits I have are of Donkey Kong, Link, and Sonic.) Perhaps using the Blue Falcon would've been more suitable than the Tanooki Kart.
Race #6
Mario Kart Stadium
Heh, more normal courses here. Seeing the number of times I got hit in this course makes me wish that the stats screen showed you how many times you've used an item or hit someone with an item versus how many times you've been hit. For Mario Kart Wii, it was a ratio of about 1:2. By the way, I was hit by an item 7 times in this race.
Race #7
Mute City
Don't confuse this with Big Blue! With Big Bue's presentation though, this course kind of fell by the wayside too. I remember when everyone was talking about how awesome it was, and then Big Blue happened. Those course designers keep getting better. Something felt suspicious about this room though--but more on that in the next race.
Race #8
N64 Toad's Turnpike
It's not as apparent if you're not using a GamePad since you can't see the racers' items, but I suspect Javier and Jesus of collusion. You'll see the two of them take the top two spots pretty early on, and I drive a wedge between them. I get hit with a Red Shell from Javier towards the beginning of the second lap, and I wait for Javier to use up his Red Shells so I can strike. He holds on to those two Red Shells for the remainder of the race. He doesn't even fire them backwards at the end. In other words, Javier is serving as Jesus's shield, protecting him from any threats (though of course, a Blue Shell will still slip by). Without using a GamePad, it still feels kind of weird to see Javier have two Red Shells and never see Jesus getting hit, since it's much, much harder to defend onseself against two Red Shells than just one. Since Friends can join each other in rooms though, I know that this sort of collusion can and will happen. Still bugs me though.
