Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Mushroom Cup 50cc
0As the 35th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros. has come to the end, with Super Mario Bros. 35 no longer playable, I decided to have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe take over its place, so expect about two videos per week.
I did some online races in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe about a year or two ago, but for these videos, I will be going through the Grand Prix Mode in this game, so in this case, I am starting with Mushroom Cup 50cc.
I went with Mario to start off the Grand Prix, and the courses for the Mushroom Cup are Mario Kart Stadium, Water Park, Sweet Sweet Canyon, and Thwomp Ruins, some easy courses to start things off. It is good to be back to playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe again, because this was one of my favourite Nintendo Switch games back when the Nintendo Switch was kind of new in 2017, and I did like Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U way back then, and I have been a fan of the Mario Kart series since Mario Kart 64, because the Nintendo 64 was my first video game console I have owned, and I did play a lot of Mario games back then.
Even though we have Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, I don't think of it as a true Mario Kart game, because you have to build a real life track, and it requires a physical kart product of Mario or Luigi in order to play that game, and there is Mario Kart Tour, but that is on mobile devices, we don't have an original Mario Kart game for the Switch, because Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a port to the Wii U game.
I guess one thing I could go over a character's kart combination as a CPU, so for Mario, his possible combinations are Standard Kart, Standard Tires, and Super Glider. Another combination is the B Dasher and same tires and glider, the third combo is P-Wing, Blue Standard, and Parafoil, and the fourth combo is Comet, Slim, and Super Glider. Some vehicle parts have different names between the American and European versions, for example, the Blue Standard is called Normal Blue in Europe, you can unlock vehicle parts when you collect coins in races, starting with every 30 to every 50, and then every 100 until you have 3100 coins.
For Grand Prix, some characters have set rivals, for Mario, his rivals are Peach and Bowser, so those are characters that would usually be ahead of the other CPU players, and this is restricted only to the Grand Prix mode.
