Pokémon Sword & Shield Wild Area Event: April Fools 2021
2On this day, there would usually be information that is not completely true, and information that would trick people, and even YouTube has done some special things during April 1st, at one point they wanted to shut down YouTube and re-launch it at 2023, and one year had Sandstorm from Darude play when you click the YouTube music bar, so YouTube has done some special April Fools events from 2008 till 2016.
With Pokémon Sword & Shield, the event only happens on April 1st, and there will be increased appearances of Magikarp in Max Raid Battles, but there is a twist, you cannot catch any Magikarp in the Max Raid Battles, but at least you get some good Water-type TR moves.
I even forgot that the weather is set at the 1st day of the month, and on April 1st, there are sandstorms in the Wild Area, not to be confused with the song of the same name, which is why I usually do my Wild Area Event videos in the Isle of Armor or Crown Tundra at the start of the month, because the weather is not set there when the month starts.
At least we got a very easy Max Raid Battle event, because it's not like a Magikarp is that hard to defeat, specially if you have any good Grass or Electric-type Pokémon on your team, and even though you can't catch a Magikarp during this event, you do get some good rewards, like some Water-type TRs, Armorite Ore, Dynite Ore, and many others.
I do wonder what event we will get the next day, because we had about every Gigantamax Pokémon available in Max Raid Battles, and every pair of types has been done, so I don't know what they will move onto for the next Wild Area events.
Another interesting bit of trivia is that April 1st 1997 was when the first episode of the Pokémon Anime was first broadcast in Japan, and it has had over 1100 episodes and 23 movies throughout the years.
