This is the final Grand Prix cup in Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and this is the Extra Special Cup, which is unlocked after completing all five of the Grand Prix cups, and then collect 100 coins total in the Special Cup. This one is really difficult as the Special Cup was the hardest cup in Super Mario Kart, and the difficulty does carry over to this game.
I use Yoshi, as I like using lighter characters in more difficult tracks, and this is on 50cc, I have no plans to do 100cc or 150cc. The tracks in the Extra Special Cup are Koopa Beach 2, Ghost Valley 3, Vanilla Lake 2, and Rainbow Road. Koopa Beach 2 is one of the shorter tracks in the game, it reuses the background from Shy Guy Beach, the Cheep Cheeps are removed from the course. Next is Ghost Valley 3, my least favourite NES course in the game due to the holes on the track itself, and it is harder than the previous Ghost Valley tracks, it does use the background from Broken Pier, which was another Special Cup track. Vanilla Lake 2 has a bunch of ice blocks, making it a difficult track to get through, the Warp Pipes are removed, and it uses the background for Snow Land. Last up is Rainbow Road, the Thwomps from the original track were removed, and it uses the background from this game's Rainbow Road, the difference is you cannot see Bowser's Castle from Paper Mario in the background in this one, at least it is easier than the original, but it is still a very tricky course with all of those turns.
That is all of Mario Kart: Super Circuit done, and as I have went over, I have no plans to do 100cc or 150cc, I have tried the Mushroom Cup on 150cc in my own time, and the CPUs are even harder, to the point where it was hard to keep 1st place throughout the race. It was at least good to play that game on Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Switch Online, even if this isn't one of my favourite Mario Kart games, I preferred Mario Kart 64 as this was a game that I have played back in the day. I don't know if ever we will get Gamecube games come to Nintendo Switch online, because I wouldn't mind seeing Mario Kart: Double Dash!! being one of the games part of it.
