Before starting Surprise Trade, I show a Mystery Gift code which is a tie-in to VGC Tournaments, and the Pokémon you get is a Palafin that comes with a Mystic Water, it has Jet Punch, Wave Crash, Haze, and Protect, and it was used in a VGC International Championship.
For this week's Surprise Trade, I do randomize the list to get the Pokémon, and I get Pawmi, the Pikachu clone of this generation, I usually breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Jolly for the Nature as it has good Speed and Special Attack when fully evolved. Some Pawmi have the Hidden Ability of Iron Fist, and there are some with Static or Natural Cure, Static turns into Volt Absorb when it evolves into the Electric/Fighting-type Pawmo.
For Egg Moves, Pawmi learns Mach Punch, Fake Out, Sweet Kiss, and Wish, it learns Mach Punch from Breloom, which is currently the only Pokémon in the game that learns it through level up, Fake Out from a variety of Pokémon, some examples include Meowth, Impidimp, and Tinkatink, it learns Sweet Kiss from Pikachu and Pachirisu, and Wish is a move many Pokémon learn as an Egg Move, but for level up options, Gardevoir, Alomomola, and Florges are the notable examples.
Pawmi has a unique evolution method, while it evolves into Pawmo at Level 18, if you walk with Pawmo outside of its Poké Ball for 1000 steps using the Let's Go feature, it will evolve into Pawmot. Despite being the first Electric/Fighting-type in the generation, they are not the only ones, Iron Hands also has that type combination as well. For level up moves, Pawmi learns Scratch, Growl, Thunder Shock, Quick Attack, Charge, Nuzzle, Dig, Bite, Spark, Thunder Wave, Entrainment, Slam, Discharge, Agility, and Wild Charge, there isn't any reason to keep Pawmi from evolving, as Pawmo learns Spark at Level 23, the same time Pawmi learns it. Pawmo learns Arm Thrust upon evolution, and when fully evolved, it will learn the move Revival Blessing, which revives a fainted Pokémon by half of its maximum HP, Pawmot is one of two Pokémon that can learn the move, the other being Rabsca. Pawmot learns Close Combat and its signature move Double Shock, a 120 Power Physical Electric-type move that removes Pawmot's Electric-type upon use.
Next are TMs, and I will go over what Pawmot can learn, it can get Charm, Thunder Fang, Low Kick, Thief, Metal Claw, Rock Tomb, Low Sweep, Volt Switch, Brick Break, Bulk Up, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Seed Bomb, Body Press, Eerie Impulse, Crunch, Play Rough, Baton Pass, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Tera Blast, and a few other moves.
Pawmot is a decent Pokémon in online battles, while it is one of two Pokémon to learn Revival Blessing, Pawmot is the faster one out of the two, while Rabsca is on the slow side and its typing gives it many weaknsses. Pawmot usually has Double Shock and Close Combat as its main moves, and for its filler move, Ice Punch for coverage or Mach Punch for priority are there to make use of Iron Fist, Pawmot can even make use of Natural Cure or Volt Absorb based on the moves it has. For Tera Type, it's always Electric, because that means Pawmot can repeatedly use Double Shock without the need to switch out, whenever Pawmot is used on a team, it is the main Terastal user because of Double Shock. It is ranked 50th in the current format in Single Battles, and one of the top Electric-types, only beaten by Wash Rotom, Magnezone, Iron Hands, and Bellibolt, and as with Fighting-type Pokémon, Annihilape, Breloom, Iron Valiant, Great Tusk, and Quaquaval rank higher.
Pawmot does see use in Double Battles, it can use Fake Out, it is the faster user of Revival Blessing, and it can use Tera Electric for Double Shock, it doesn't need any other Tera Type than Electric. Pawmot is ranked 101st in the current format in Double Battles, Iron Hands places higher as it shares the same type as Pawmot, and for other Electric-types, Wash Rotom, Kilowattrel, and Magnezone place higher, and for Fighting-type Pokémon, while the ones I listed for Single Battles also place higher than Pawmot in Double Battles, it also includes Gallade, Hariyama, Flamigo, Slither Wing, and Lucario for other Fighting-type Pokéon.
Pawmot is a solid Pokémon for Tera Raids, and while an Electric Tera Type is preferred, it might need to have a secondary Electric-type move like Thunder Punch, because to get the best use out of Double Shock, it needs to build up the Tera Orb in order to Terastallize. It is a decent Electric-type when going through the game, although it does require having to walk 1000 steps using the Let's Go feature in order to be fully evolved, and when using Pawmot, Thunder Punch is the ideal Electric-type move if you don't like the recoil from Wild Charge.
