Here is the Lightning Cup, this is the first Mario Kart game to have a new cup outside of the main four, it is placed between the Flower Cup and the Star Cup, and in later Mario Kart games starting from Mario Kart DS, the Lightning Cup is placed as the final retro cup. I never explained about random in the previous video, this is the first Mario Kart game where you can select random, the only other game in the series to have that is Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for the Gamecube.
I use Wario to go through the Lightning Cup, he is one of the heavyweights in the game, although he is tied with Donkey Kong for the second heaviest character, while they have good top speed, they have really low acceleration. Wario's rival order in the Grand Prix is Bowser, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad.
The tracks for the Lightning Cup are Luigi Circuit, Sky Garden, Cheep Cheep Island, and Sunset Wilds. Going over the tracks, Luigi Circuit is the first Mario Kart track to take place in the rain, there are puddles to watch out for as they can cause the driver to lose speed, and you can see the Luigi blimp in the background, which does appear in Sky Garden, the track after Luigi Circuit. Both Luigi Circuit and Sky Garden return to Mario Kart DS, and Sky Garden is one of my favourite tracks in this game, where it takes place in the sky and there are some plants around the clouds, and this track did get a redesign in Mario Kart Tour, which was included in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as a DLC course. Cheep-Cheep Island and Sunset Wilds both appeared in Mario Kart Tour, and both went through many changes to the course. Cheep-Cheep Island takes place on various islands connected by bridges, and Sunset Wilds is a desert themed course with the sun setting in the background as it turns to night after each lap, and the Shy Guy Tents, and the Shy Guys can grab onto karts, causing drivers to lose coins. The Shy Guys were different in the Japanese version where they had Native American headdresses, which was removed outside of Japan.
