Minis is a unique game which makes effective use of motion controls for the
Nintendo DS. Touch screen fans who enjoy Mario spins offs will probably overall
enjoy this game. The intro opens up showing us how Mario is having a grand
opening for the sale of his new line of mini Mario toys. Donkey Kong feeling
upset about being rejected by the plumbers female companion kidnaps her and runs
off. Now it's up to Mario to make his way up the tower and use his mini toys to
save the day. Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 March of the Minis is interesting to say the least. The game is mostly a puzzle solving game consisting of guiding minis through various obstacles to the end of the course. The graphics are decent and the music fits. I had mixed feelings on the touch screen controls. This game is completely touch based. While they seemed to work it seemed like there were times were minis did not respond as well as they could have. It could have just been me but having played other touchscreen games that is how I felt. The puzzle solving is easy but it's still fun. And worlds are all themed such as ghost themes for a world. At the end of each world you fight Donkey Kong as a boss. The number of minis you have for the fight depends on how many you got through each level which motivates you to do a good job. The game is a interesting Mario side game. People who enjoy simple puzzle solvers or spin off titles will probably enjoy this well enough. Either way Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 March of the Minis can be worth to check out.
