MARVEL ZOMBIES Disney Plus Series Announcement Breakdown + What If Season 2 Explained
29SO, we just got huge news and it’s that Marvel Zombies from the what if series is officially get their own disney plus show. I’m going to break down this announcement, what to expect from the series, and how it’s set in a whole other universe than the one we see from what if.
So, yes, this series is confirmed by director of what if Bryan Andrews to be exploring a whole other generation of heroes in the animated multiverse. Meaning, that we will not be picking up from where the what if marvel zombies left off. And before you go asking yourself, “But, that’s the marvel zombies universe! How can they not pick up where they left off.” Well, remember when Doctor Strange in the finale of what if opened a portal over ultron, sending all the marvel zombies on him, well look closely, and you’ll see cap, falcon and hawkeye, falcon and cap we see die in their zombies episode, meaning that doctor strange had to portal these zombies from another point in the multiverse where there is a marvel zombies world that exists still a zombie cap and a zombie falcon. My point being that there are other earths in the mcu multiverse that have zombies ruling the earth
So, what new generation of heroes will the marvel zombies disney plus show explore? Well, I’m thinking that the show will be combining characters that have been recently introduced into the MCU and characters that we have yet to see appear in the MCU: such as creating a team of survivors consisting of any new characters like: agatha harkness, hawkeye’s upcoming apprentice kate bishop, She Hulk who we have yet to see in her new show, amongst others like Moon Knight who will debut in his own show, as well as Ms. Marvel who we’ll see very soon in her disney plus show, maybe even Torres who is now the MCU’s falcon after sam gave him the wings in falcon and the winter soldier - red guardian - any of the eternals - it might even be a good time to introduce some of the x-men in the series, like how picture perfect would it be to see Wolverine traverse mercilessly through a world jam-packed with marvel zombies?
I think it would also be very cool if we see the marvel zombies series see not only zombie threats for our heroes to face, but also to see human threats too, a whole new sea of them too like any of the thunderbolts like Yelena Belova or Abomination, or John Walker US Agent, or the entire thunderbolts team that is being created by Contessa
Even to face more cosmic threats that could be zombified, like imagine seeing zombified celestials, even for our heroes to face some zombified eternals?
There’s so much to explore in that marvel zombies series and so many avenues, but speaking of that, let’s talk about what if season 2 that was announced and we know that the series will be kicking off with the iron man and thanos killing gamora episode that wasn’t finished in time for what if season 1, that was confirmed to be pushed to season 2
We do know that the showrunner has said that what if season 2 will be exploring more character-focused episodes which means that if you were a fan of the doctor strange episode of what if, you’re going to love what if season 2 as it won’t explore as many world-ending possibilities, and instead do character studies
