Spider Man No Way Home TV SPOT Breakdown + Electro Killed HIS Iron Man & Stole Arc Reactor Explained
15So, we just got a new spider man no way home tv spot and it shows a little bit more of the movie, not too much more, but just enough to show a few easter eggs and even presenting the idea that Electro could’ve killed Tony Stark and stole his tech. Stay with me.
Okay, so the tv spot kicks off with Happy being sent to voicemail by Peter, which you’ll remember that in spider man homecoming that it was the other way around where peter was always being sent to voicemail by Happy - which goes hand-in-hand with how Tom Holland remarked this movie as being a bookend, bringing it full circle.
Happy says, what? We got guys made of mud? Of course, referencing Sandman
After that, we get a few close up shots of Electro and you’ll notice that his suit is powered by an arc reactor which means two things:
One: his suit is the source of his power, and that means that he is not biologically powered like he was in amazing spider man 2; hence the idea that this electro comes from a different universe, and is a variant
The other thing is that with the fact that Electro is powered by an arc reactor, that means he likely killed the Tony Stark from his universe and stole his tech. Now, I know you are sitting there saying, “where do you get the idea that he killed his tony stark?” Let me explain. We know from what if, that in every single universe, Tony dies no matter what - he died against ultron, he died by hank killing him, and we know he dies in endgame too - that makes Tony’s death an absolute point in time; remember, we know from what if that an absolute point in time means that an event that occurs cannot be changed or altered, like how no matter what doctor strange did, Christine always ended up dying because her death is an absolute point in time, so assuming that electro has Tony’s arc reactor, means that Tony must’ve been killed by electro and electro then proceeded to take tony’s technology to complete and power the suit
It does make me wonder how different that these variants will be from their counterparts, like if in their universe, which heroes they’ve killed, and even which villains they’ve killed too - that’s a concept that I am intrigued in how they approach
We see Peter here, and he says that the multiverse is real, much to his surprise, because remember in the last movie, Peter finds out that all the multiverse talk was just fake because Mysterio invented the story about being from another universe - so his surprise that it’s real is justified
We also see Peter with his tie cut in half, likely meaning that this scene between doctor strange and him takes place after the bridge fight
A really blink and you miss it detail is that whenever you see electro blasting someone, you can see that he has the star encompass his face from the comics and it’s only when he’s about to blast which is a fun easter egg
We then get our best look at the lizard that we’ve ever gotten for the footage and he has some certain feature that do separate him from his look that we got in the amazing spider man, meaning he is a variant
