The 'dry run' as I've called it, involved starting a new character from scratch for Insanity. No pre-Insanity levelling. Sniper Rifle is the bonus skill.

At this point in the playthrough I probably don't need to mention the 'dry run' bit any more - at this point we're around level 55-56 and have every skill that's worth getting, although Shep still hasn't got the best light armor yet, she's still a lot of fun.

I left it late picking up Liara for the luls (she thinks everything is an hallucination). Not recommended if you intend to romance her. She also gets snooty when you just 'give' her all the answers regarding the Protheans.
