MATCH OF THE YEAR! Gingerbeast & Yoggy against the S.A.S. in 1 hour long match! | IOC # 308
5Back to back matches against Gingerbeast & Yoggy, this time we are in the Isle of Conquest! We head up to the Hangar with the majority of our team and slowly make it up the hill and start fighing on top of the flag. They were getting some kills, we were getting some kills, but we finally started wiping them some time though, and ran them out of the Hangar!
From there, we jumped down to the Workshop to help secure it while the ALLY already had capped the Docks and almost had their Glaives in position. It was clear they were trying to either capture the Workshop, or just turtle us there while their Glaives did the damage to our West Gate! After we finally wiped them there, we headed to the Glaives and got all 3 Glaives down before I went down for the count!
Unfortunately the ALLY then capped the Workshop while we were all away from the Workshop killing Glaives, so we had to worry about killing their Demolishers as well. A few minutes go by and they are sending the Siege Engine to the hangar! We sent enough people back there I thought, so I called for a small team to go the Workshop to try and reclaim it. Eventually the ALLY either were dying at the Hangar and respawned at the Workshop, or they came from their base with enough numbers to wipe us at the Workshop.
However, this did not work out so well in their favor, as it allowed us to respawn at the Hangar since we still had it capped and this gave us the numbers we needed to finish wiping their team there. A Warlock also ported them somewhere as well, I didn't even see where they got ported to, but it obviously was a good one as I didn't see them coming back to fight anymore after they got ported, and it allowed us to finish off the ones that didn't get ported rather quickly.
We go kill Glaives again, and then we got the ALLY gate down and started heading to their base for the ALL IN. The ALLY had other plans for us as they brought their Demolishers from the Workshop to their base and proceeded to take back their Graveyard and wipe us while killing their boss! They ALLY also messed up by capping all three nodes, so this allowed us to spawn back in our base to defend against their offense trying to come in and kill our boss!
It had become apparent, that this match may not end with a boss kill by either side, so the call was made to start capping the Refinery and the Quarry so we could have the reinforcements count up for us and not the ALLY. We actually held Quarry & Refinery for most of the rest of the match, they would send small teams to each and we would kill their teams going one by one without getting too close to their base at the Quarry to be hit from their Cannons at their base!
We then sent a small teams to their base as distractions to get them to keep running back to their base over and over since their base Graveyard was getting tapped! This allowed us to keep them split pretty good as well so they didn't ever have a huge force anywhere, while most of our team was waiting in our base for them to come back, or defending the Quarry or Refinery!
Once we took the lead in Reinforcements and our lead kept growing, the ALLY realized they were never gonna win the match anymore by just sitting at their base doing nothing, so they sent a rather large team to our base to try and take the Graveyard so they could go ALL IN on our boss. But we had some people there and sent more back to wipe them all there and then we just had to chase down the last 20 kills.
The ALLY finally retook the Quarry & Refinery, but it was way too late, we were already ahead in score by over 100 at this point in the match. So it was called to just chase them back to the Docks and kill every target in our way until we got the final kill near the Docks flag to end this 1 hour 42 second match up! Very nice match indeed, not sure why this was never a MOST EPIC match in that series, because it certainly deserved to be!
P.S. This match gets my vote for MATCH OF THE YEAR for the calendar year 2021, such a great match, thanks to everyone involved in making this match one of the greatest of all time!
