I had a Windows 8 machine that would not run either Max Payne 1 or Max Payne 2. Yet I had an older machine where they were running fine. After reading tons of forums, tweaking the games compatibility modes and working with Nvidia support trying different drivers, I was about to give up.

Then I realized that I had upgraded the older machine with Windows 8 Preview to get a look at the new features.

Sooooo..., since I have a Microsoft MSDN account, I downloaded 8.1 RTM, And guess what? Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2 run perfectly. Well, Max Payne 1 is missing audio in the cut scenes, but that's an issue with some Windows 7 installation.

In any case, if you are having fits trying to run MP1 or MP2, just wait until next week (Oct 17, I believe) and get it!!!!!
