After killing Lupino, Max is found by an assassin named Mona Sax who reveals that Jack Lupino wasn't the one who had Alex killed and set up Max for it, but rather Don Punchinello himself, Angelo Punchinello who had somehow found out about Max's affiliation with DEA. She also suggests for her and Max to join forces in taking down Punchinello due to Mona wishing to see Punchinello dead for abusing her sister who is married to him. Max agrees and two proceed to share a drink within shot up Ragna Rock. However, it turns out that Mona has double-crossed Max due to fearing that he'd get carried away and accidentally kill her sister during the attack on Punchinello and drugged his drink, causing him to pass out and suffer a nightmarish retelling of the night his family was murdered..
