Scotty is just like you or I, only slightly different. Born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, he can't use almost all of his muscles. But he still has real joy in his life, and this is why.

This short documentary won first place at the 2016 Focus On Ability short film festival, held in Sydney, Australia. Getting to know Scotty through the making of this film is still one of the greatest privileges I've ever had.

On 26 July 2019, Scotty passed away, at the age of 33. His last words on Facebook were lyrics from a song by Casting Crowns:

Dream your dreams, chase your heart, above all else
Make a name the world remembers
But all an empty world can sell is empty dreams
I don't want to leave a legacy
I don't care if they remember me
Only Jesus
And I, I've only got one life to live
I'll let every second point to Him
Only Jesus
