I did a Mass Effect 1 run, and speed run per a friend's request. I was happy to do so. I enjoyed the reminder of how great Mass Effect 1 was. I think 2 and 3 killed the story line, and some portions of the game play.

I started/ended the recording, and Stop Watch at the points that the other Speed Runners started/stopped at.

I used my phone for the Stop Watch. I took a picture with my camera for those who wish to verify my legitimacy. When I hit stop the time was 2:46:34.59. This puts me in 7th place for overall time, and 4th place for Any % New Game Plus as of 8/31/15 (as far as anyone is able to tell).

I did this Speed Run without using Glitches. I understand that Speed Runners use Glitches all the time, however I feel that it is cheating.

I ran Paragon instead of Renegade. All of the other known Speed Runners did Renegade.

I saved Wrex, and chose to let Kaidan make the sacrifice.

I also ran at a higher difficulty. The few Speed Runners I could find, ran on Casual Difficulty. I ran at Normal. This is what Mass Effect wiki's say about difficulty:

Casual: All enemies, including bosses, are scaled down relative to the player's level. Most enemies have no special protection or immunities

Normal: Bosses scaled up based on the player's level. Some enemies have special protection

I was level 58 by the end of the run I think. This means all of the enemies were higher level than normal (for Speed Runs).

I will not attempt anymore Speed Runs (for now). I honestly think that I can't do any better. I am satisfied with being top 10 for Mass Effect 1. I think I set a new standard for any future Speed Runners who wish to attempt a Mass Effect 1 run. Good luck to future Speed Runners!

Edit: I received a matched 3rd party content from INGrooves. This company is fraudulent. They are claiming that the "Mass Effect (Intro) - The Cipher" song at the beginning is theirs.

This is not yours. This is what the internet says about the Mass Effect 1 Soundtrack

"It was composed by Jack Wall and Sam Hulick with additional music by Richard Jacques and David Kates. The song that plays over the final credits, "M4 Part II", was written by Faunts"

I did Google the name as well. There is dozens of posts, and videos about this fraud. I hope Youtube finally does something.

I claim Fair Useage Policy because other Speed Runners, and Twitch Streamers DID NOT mute the music during their recordings. Furthermore I was Streaming on Twitch while recording. The music was necessary for the entertainment of my viewers.

I am aware that my audio is looping. When I was streaming this on Twitch, the viewers I had fell asleep. I had to be able to check my audio to ensure it was working.

Anything I said during that Stream, was based on knowledge I had at the time. I may not be accurate so do not quote me!
