Meddling with a Curse of Greed in Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness
I was E-mailed a key for Black Geyser's early access release, an upcoming CRPG in the style of Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate I & II. The land is engulfed in civil war and a curse of greed is twisting folks towards evil. After your home is destroyed (not a beloved peasant village this time!) you'll be forced to take part in events that will shape the land, for good or evil.
I played a little bit of the beginning but so far I haven't been hooked as I was with Baldur's Gate I & II, which I remember quite fondly as a kid (and were what eventually got me into playing D&D!). There seems a little bit of overcomplexity with some systems. Some of this is likely just playing and learning the game so we'll see how well it actually is for a number of hours.
This will also be a bit of a science experiment of how well CRPGs work with streaming as I would love to stream Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment but there is a lot of dialogue to read.
