Medieval 2 Total War running natively on Ubuntu 15.10 64bit! All this whilst on the open source Mesa drivers (radeonsi).

This new title to Linux is brought to us by Feral Interactive, the second Total War game Feral has decided to bring to the Linux platform.

A weird issue with Mesa I have is that it seems to cap Medieval 2 to 60fps. It does this for a few other games as well, but titles like CSGO are not capped.

I run Medieval II at maxed out settings, with the exception of Anti-Aliasing which is at 2x.

One downside to this port is that the multiplayer is not crossplatform. This means only Linux players versus Linux players.

The biggest pro of this port has to be that Feral considers the Mesa drivers ontop of the Nvidia proprietary drivers as officially supported.

I did try this title on my Intel HD4600 iGPU. Intel's Mesa drivers still lack performance. It runs Medieval 2 at 8 to 12 fps. This is likely why Feral only supports the Iris Pro series.
