Ubuntu 15.10 VS Windows 10 : GRID Autosport Benchmark on a GTX 680
230This benchmark takes a look at the Nvidia performance of the native versions of GRID Autosport on both Ubuntu and Windows.

Nvidia drivers:
Windows 10 uses 355.98
Ubuntu 15.10 uses 355.11
A big thanks to Feral Interactive for providing a review copy, however I ended up using my own purchased copy for this video instead. To note, my 680 is only under the minimum requirements category. It should be safe to assume 700 series cards and newer can garner far better results.
An important note, the benchmark is not a frame-for-frame benchmark. Instead, different events can occur during the benchmark each time.
Whilst performance is not directly at the level of the Windows version of the game, losing only 20fps on average is pretty minor at 1080p. An improvement to performance is of course always welcome.
GRID Autosport seems to be built on Codemaster's in-house EGO 3.0 engine.
This is a solid port by Feral Interactive, and if racing games with a proper focus on competitive racing is your interest, then this is the next big triple-A title you need to get for your Linux gaming library!
While previous ports from Feral have always been stable, this is the first port where I've experienced system wide hangs after changing settings or running the benchmark one too many times. However, I do suspect there may be an issue with Nvidia's drivers and the 4.2 Linux kernel, as I've been experiencing other system wide oddities outside of GRID as well.
