3The Bishop of Rome has gotten quite uppity in recent years, trying to out-Roman Empire the Roman Empire. Echoing the early history of Rome, the Pope seeks to control the Italian peninsula. All he has succeeded in doing is giving me a reason to conquer my ancestral home!
In this series I'm going to be attempting to return the Eastern Roman, or Byzantine, Empire to a place of glory. Surrounded by pagans, Muslim Turks, and filthy Venetians, I will have to seize Roman land at the point of a sword!
