Medieval Rampage 3 - Game Preview
Medieval times have indeed showed how brutal their war is. And now you can also experience the action too in this fast-paced shooting game called Medieval Rampage 3! There are 2 modes that you can select; Campaign mode and Skirmish mode. In Campaign mode, you will need to finish each level and follow the rules of each game mode like Capture the Flag, Team Battle, or Free For All. The Skirmish mode is you get to choose your own options. The player with the highest points or kills on these modes will be the winner. When you kill an enemy, you will gain coins that can be spent on the shop after each level.

When you hear the word "medieval" you imagine swords slashing through shields, maces making minced-meat out of men, and all sorts of really visceral and bloody violence. Add the word "rampage" to that and you've got the potential for some really insane levels of destruction and violence. Medieval Rampage aims to just that with its third iteration of this top down shooter.
You'd think that a game with this name would be something of a side scroller not unlike those sword and sorcery games that you might have played in your youth on the Super Nintendo (well, if you were from that era that is). Instead, it plays as a top-down shooter of sorts, with your rampaging medieval dudes armed with magical bows and arrows. A bit of a let-down perhaps, but it's still good fun.
The graphics are fairly decent, nothing really spectacular here, but at least at par with other games in the genre. It does make an effort with the fancy effects when shooting your bow and with the level of detail found in the terrain, but other than that, there's nothing really amazingly impressive. The same goes for the sounds; they're certainly adequate but they get rather repetitive after a couple of levels. Still, it's hardly a game-breaker.
In the game, you'll be taking control of a single soldier going around a level with a magical bow and arrow. You'll be up against hordes of similar dudes armed with similar weapons and it's your task to take them out and capture their flag. Once the flag is captured, you take it back to your base. Yeah, it's fairly simple, and it's been done before, but as they say, don't reinvent the wheel.
Along the way, you'll be able to upgrade your archer with better modes of fire (you don't really start out with anything too spiffy), improved health (yeah, you're pretty squishy at the start, you'll want to improve that as soon as you're financially able to in-game), and all sorts of other goodies (to make things short, you start out as a wimp). What you're able to upgrade will depend on just how well you perform, so do really well on the levels in the campaign and you'll be able to upgrade more things sooner. That in turn makes for better performance on future levels, so it's a win-win.
So if you're in the mood for some medieval action, then go on and give Medieval Rampage 3 a shot!
