Join the flight crew in this thrilling shooting game that will soar through the skies. See if you can survive the war as a Sudden Aviator! Your mission it to fly over each part of land or island and protect it from the incoming enemy waves. Shoot all the planes and tanks until there is none left! Choppers rock. Be that choppers as in the stripped down motorcycles or the flying machines of death, choppers are really cool. In this case, we're talking about helicopters, as can be guessed by the name of the game, "Sudden Aviator".

At first, it would seem that Sudden Aviator is a vertical shooter like 1942. Instead, it places you in a static level where you maneuver around while shooting down as many of the bad guys as possible. Yeah... that doesn't really sound that different from a bunch of other games. Still, it's fun to play, and it'll provide a measure of entertainment.

The graphics are fairly cartoony and non-realistic, but they work. They do look good for what they are, but don't expect anything ground breaking. You've got your little chopper flying around shooting at enemy aircraft with cartoony little shots. Not much for the tension of warfare and the impending doom of getting shot down, but again, it works within the context of the game. On a more positive note, the levels are designed fairly well, and they match the simplified art style of the rest of the game making for perhaps one of the more colorful wars out there.

The controls are fairly simple. You move around with your keyboard and then shoot things down by aiming and clicking with your mouse. It's a control scheme that's fairly common with these games, and that's mainly because it works so well. The game does get fairly frantic later on, so you'll be mashing at your keyboard pretty soon and clicking away frantically at your mouse.

As aforementioned, the game starts off fairly slowly and at a rather leisurely pace. You'll be attacked by what look to be bi-planes (fighting against helicopters? yeah, sure, why not.) and you'll have to take them down. They do fire back of course, but you'll start out pretty much out-gunning them as they use the typical evil overlord method of attack wherein a whole horde of Imperial Stormtrooper type grunts are sent out en masse. As is always the case, quantity is never a substitute over quality, but the sheer numbers that will press down on you can get a bit bothersome. Later on, you'll also be encountering tanks, among other things. To help combating all the hordes you'll be up against, you'll be able to purchase upgrades to your equipment.
