Screws and Robots Game
Robots against robots! It's going to be an action-packed scenario if that's the case in this simple but entertaining game called Screws and Robots! You will be in command of a robot here with various abilities. The mission assigned to you is to collect screws and place them inside the platform. You will be able to get these screws by shooting the flying robots with your right arm. Then you need to switch to your left arm and use its magnet to grab them. Once the platform indicates that it's 100% full, you can finally finish the level by escaping on the same platform.
```
Get ready for some robot action with Screws and Robots. In this game, you'll control a bipedal robot fighting off swarms of smaller robots as they try to blast you apart to prevent you from escaping.
At first, it looks like Screws and Robots is just another platform game. It's certainly got the main character for it. Rather than a platformer though, Screws and Robots plays more like a defense shooter. It's not entirely one, but it's fairly close enough to one.
The graphics are average vector graphics and while they're nothing exceptional, they're not too shabby either. Granted, the enemies that look the same wave after wave can be a bit of drag though. You do get some variation as the waves progress, but for the most part you'll be looking at the same silvery flying heads that shoot the same gray pellets at you. Your main character is a bit better though, and it animates rather nicely with its sideways waddle.
The main goal of the game is to blast apart as many things as you can, pretty much the goal of many other games out there. There is an added aspect though, and that after each bad guy blows up, it drops a bunch of screws. Your task is to collect these screws and drop them into a receptacle which slowly fills up to 100%. When it does so, you'll be able to skip onto the next level. Of course, you can stay on the level and continue to shoot things down if you want, but there's really not much point to it once 100% is reached on the dial of the receptacle.
To do that, you use either WASD or the arrow keys to move left and right. You can only blast things apart with your right hand and collect screws with your left hand though. Switching which hand is active is done with the space key, so you can only be doing one thing at a time. At first, you won't have to deal with too many baddies, but later on you'll be shuffling back and forth madly to evade everything that's coming at you. As soon as something blows up, you can switch to your left hand which will create a magnet of sorts that'll attract the screws. You must then shuffle over to the receptacle and drop them in.
So is Screws and Robots worth playing? It can be a bit repetitive, but it's certainly fun enough while it lasts. So go on and give it a shot!
