If you like a fast-paced puzzle game, then this arcade-themed game called Save Those Bots can give you a good thrill of fun! The main objective here is to transport the robots on the portals. These robots will walk automatically and you should help them get to the portal by interacting with the devices on each level. There are switches that activates platforms, elevators, and walls so that you can change their path. But take note that these robots have colors and they must enter the portal with the same color. They will just walk through it and fall from the platforms and you could fail that level.

Lemmings was perhaps one of the most frustrating games around. You oculdn't help but want to throttle those little guys for their mindless wandering about and falling to their doom. Now, while Save Those Bots isn't quite a Lemmings clone, it still obviously takes a great deal of influence from it. On a positive note though, it's not as hard as Lemmings, so you won't be tempted to put your fist through your monitor.

At first, it seems that Save Those Bots is a platformer where you move around rescuing robots. Instead, it's a pleasantly surprising puzzle game, one that'll take brains, timing, and no small amount of patience to complete.

The graphics are, like the gameplay, a throwback to old-school gaming and are done in spiffy pseudo-8-bit graphics. It works well for the game, and the simple style of the sprites and the environment allows the player to focus on finishing the puzzles. Likewise, the level design and the graphics for such is fairly simple, but effective. You don't really need a bajillion colors just to get an image across, and this game doesn't bother with said bajillion. The music is also fairly simple, but similarly effective, making for a quirky, but simple and fun atmosphere for the game.

The game is entirely controlled by the mouse. You click on things on the screen and that's pretty much that. Still, despite a simple control scheme, it does take some practice and some focus as the speed at which the little bots spawn will eventually get pretty frantic. So you've got to focus on where you're clicking, where the bots are, and where you want them to go next. Sound complicated? You bet it is.

As in Lemmings, you've got to guide the tiny little guys to the exit. Unlike Lemmings though, you've got different guys that have to go into different exits. Yellow bots have to go to the yellow exit, red bots to the red exit, and so on and so forth. Also unlike Lemmings, you won't have the individual bots performing specific tasks such as blocking other bots, building platforms, or (an all-time favorite) exploding. Instead, you have to deal with the level itself and click on the different parts of the level that activate different effects. At first, you'll have basic effects such as flipping which direction the bots walk in. Later on, you'll get walls, moving platforms, elevators, and all sorts of fun things to wrack your brain over.

So looking for a good puzzle game? Then look no further, Save Those Bots is the game for you!
