They’re not the Borg, but they do have a hive mind. Let’s take a glance at the Glitch race!
These robotic people live in a strange cross between Steampunk-style industrial and medieval European cultures. This strange mishmash brings us a race that speaks their emotion before they speak, implying that they cannot convey emotion through their words. However, they are very customizeable so, despite their unexplained game origins, they are very expressive outwardly. While some Glitch seem to be part of a hive mind, others are independant AI with their own quirky personalities (making them a less-intense version of the Apex culture).
As for playability in Frackin Universe…they are immensely powerful beings that make good tanks (perhaps literally if you put enough of them together and slapped some wheels on them), as they are adept with some of the heavier weapons, like shields, greatxes, greatswords, and maces. They also specialize in bows in case you want a long-range fighter. When your energy is low ( 25% or less ), you lose your Shield perks and your Physical Resistance and Protection drop by 50%. When your energy is restored, you regain your lost bonuses.
As for buffs, while electricity does quite a bit of damage, they have resists to Radiation and are completely immune to Poison and Bee Stings. They can move unhindered in oil and also have their health restores in pools of oil, erchius fluid, or liquid protocite. Since these little guys can only eat a special diet of metal-based foods (such as Automatoes, Currentcorn, Diodia, Bolbulbs, etc.), having a small regenerative pool aboard your ship might come in handy, although it would only regenerate health and not fullness. However, your ship locker will contain three seeds to get you started so you don’t die.
(Fortunately, a few cooked foods, such as Canned Goods, don’t harm you when eaten.)
