Mega Man Boss Design Contests | 4 Minute Review
32Throughout the Mega Man series it has been common practice for Capcom to turn to fans for ideas on what kind of robot masters should be featured in upcoming games. Contests would be held to see whose ideas ranked supreme, and hundreds of thousands would submit their drawings and ideas in an attempt to have their creations immortalized in a video game forever.
Rockman 4's robot master contest is particularly famous as a result of the super rare golden Rockman 4 cartridge that was awarded to the top prize winners. Rockman 6's contest is notable for allowing entrants from all around the world rather than being exclusive to Japan. And the nice thing is that even for those who didn't win, Capcom would often provide a Mega Man themed consolation prize to all entrants. I hope you enjoy learning all about it in this video!
