The Philips CD-i is well known as that strange console that has bizarre games featuring Nintendo characters such as Hotel Mario and Link: The Faces of Evil. Originally designed with predominately educational gaming experiences in mind, the CD-i would eventually be home to games from many different genres.

Aside from the games, another strange element of the CD-i is its expansive selection of compatible controllers. Many of these were designed with point and click experiences in mind, as well as for navigating menus and performing operations pertaining to video playback.
