The tedious stage. It's not a badly-designed level as such, it's just that Mega Man climbs ladders at such a slow pace that constantly working your way up takes much longer than it really should (and this nonsense wouldn't be fixed until Mega Man 3). If you get hit by anything during an ascent, have fun falling down screen after screen much faster than you could ever climb back up just one of them.

Unless it kills you, in which case it's even more of an insult.

Elec Man himself is a potential pain, capable of killing in three hits at most. Thankfully he dies in just as few attacks, leaving the only problem as being able to hit the bastard as he runs and leaps around the place.
