Mega Man Powered Up - PSP - Intro and opening gameplay up to Bomb Man [HD 1080p]
Release: 2006
Developer: Capcom
Publisher: Capcom
Also known as: ロックマンロックマン
Capcom's PSP remake of the original game, improves all the failing of the original NES version and adds back in Oil and Time who had to be removed from the original NES version due to a lack of time. Capcom had planned to remake every Man Man game in the series on PSP but sadly the game sold poorly resulting in any planned sequels being scraped. As enjoyable as it is the childish chibi art style goes against the look of the series and likely didn't help sales.
This video is another 1080p test for a component scaler, this was recorded from a PSP3000 using a component cable. The video has been cropped in order to get it to display at full screen. By default the PSP LCD screen displays at 480x272, however for the AV-Output the PSP appears to only support 640x480i or 640x480p. As most PSP UMD games only support 480x272 the PSP has to display them in a small letter box window when output to the TV. PS1 games which support 640x480 are however displayed at full screen. Hence why Randomised Gaming has had to crop the video to get full screen display even then the picture quality is somewhat reduced due to the small video size of the original source output.
[Edit, here's another test using a PSP only scaler, which improves the picture further: https://youtu.be/5rTsFFxPslA ]
Mega Man Powered Up is not available on any other format, there is a PSN release but only in Japan.
