So...that happened, I guess.

Overall, this game is a bit...iffy, to say the least. I like the general idea of a GB-styled Mega Man fan-game, there's quite a few things off with this one (the sheer amount of music clashing being quite the detriment to the intended GB aesthetics). The design is all over the place, with some stages ranging from bland to potentially rage-inducing, the latter of which mainly comes from exceedingly tight jumps with spikes (or sudden traps when falling into the next screen). The Wily fortress as a whole can be downright frustrating in these regards, especially when it comes to the first stage. The Wily Capsule of this game, on its own, is enough for me to not bother with the fortress should I ever revisit this game.

Chances are though, I probably won't. There's just too many things wrong/off with this. Granted however, there are still quite a few things I like about it. Mega Man's overall controls are actually pretty good, and I really like how he has MM8-styled knock-back while in the air (in that, you don't plummet straight down - saves a good bit of frustration, I'd say). The weapon set is varied and decent enough to warrant all of them being used in some way through-out the playthrough, and there are a few really well designed bosses here and there (Circuit Man and the 2nd Wily boss). I just wish that design extended to the rest of the game, though. If the stages had better layouts and gimmicks, I could definitely see this being among the better fan-games out there. As it stands right now though, it needs work.
