Mega Man X5 - Mattrex [Minimalist / No Damage / Xtreme]
7The beginning of this stage has a lot of fun jumping, the only problem is that it's followed by an "auto-scroller" section that only serves to make this stage unreasonably long. Let me break those walls myself and not need to wait for the lava to do it, dang it!
Last time I did this stage I took the lower path in the second area (and now that I think of it, took damage on the Ride Armor so that kind of broke the rules of the challenge heh), this time I decided to do the upper path. It is slower, has a mini-boss but it's also much more fun!
As for the boss, I still have no idea how exactly he works. Sometimes you need to jump over him and he decides to jump a little too fast and hit you, sometimes you want to dash under his jump but there's either a Ground Fire projectile blocking your way or he decides to do that instant ramming attack. For me, with what I currently know of this boss' pattern it feels like an RNG fight where I just hang onto the top of a wall and pray he doesn't jump on me, until he's under half HP and his pattern suddenly becomes more predictable because he'll mostly jump backwards before doing any move.
