PREVIOUSLY:
Cyber Peacock has infiltrated Cyber Space, attempting to corrupt the networks. X dives into the information superhighway in order to track down the AI reploid end exterminate him.

Peacock has taken over most of Cyber Space, deploying various mechaniloids and controlling the yellow eye-shaped programs called Miru Toraerus. These rogue anti-virus vaccines are still operating as how they were designed to do, but instead of ridding the system of viruses, they are reprogrammed to purge Maverick Hunters that appear in the system.

Deeper inside the cyber world are switches that inverts the landscape and protection programs called Protectons. X uses the switches and the programs to his advantage and makes a path that ultimately leads to Cyber Peacock's lair. The Maverick claims to have been ordered to battle X in order to test the Maverick Hunter's strength. Cyber Peacock was originally an AI that functioned as a protection program designed to stop hackers from infiltrating important computer systems but was reprogrammed however to make him arrogant and vicious, making him indiscriminately attack anyone accessing the network. Peacock fights using his teleportation ability and his feathers that can be turned into sharp blades for close encounters, or homing missiles for ranged battles. With his Soul Body ability however, X manages to take down the super AI.
