PREVIOUSLY:
After finally reaching Queen Zeal, Crono and the others prepare to fight against the tyrannic ruler. The party is able to wound the queen with their combined strengths, but the persistent queen would not bow down easily however, transforming into an alien-like form with only a head and two hands using the powers she gathered from Lavos.
A heated battle ensues between the two sides with the heroes ultimately coming out on top. Soon after the queen's defeat, she destroys the Black Omen and summons the alien parasite Lavos to rid of Crono and his friends.
During the long battle, Lavos uses the forms of all the previous stronger enemies the heroes had encountered during their journey, taking advantage of their unique attributes and abilities to fight against them. Using the entirety of their arsenal in the battle and mixing up strategies during each of Lavos' form, the heroes manage to take down Lavos.
Whilst defeated, Lavos' essence could still be felt. After their battle with the alien parasite, only a shell remains, but within it reeks of an ominous presence. Determined to end all of this once and for all, the heroes make their way inside.
