Metal Slug - Super Vehicle 001 è un famosissimo arcade di genere run&gun sviluppato da SNK - Nazca Corporation, diretto rivale della celebre serie videoludica Contra della Konami.
Il super soldato addestratissimo, Marco Rossi, può saltare a due livelli d'altezza, sparare i nemici a distanza sia con una normale pistola che con power up dalle munizioni limitate, e lanciare granate per arrecare elevatissimi danni; ovviamente, quest'ultime sono a numero limitato come le munizioni delle armi speciali, tra cui la celebre "H - heavy machinegun" oppure "R - rocket launcher" o ancora "F - flame shot". Infine può attaccare ad alto tasso di rischio, determinati nemici in attacchi a distanza col suo fido coltello: questo è fondamentale per chi vuole ottenere un elevatissimo punteggio, in quanto regala punti bonus rispetto ai pochi punti assegnati in caso di nemico sconfitto con le altre armi.
Lungo 6 missioni, il gioco è quel che vedete: caotico, colorato, difficile - nonostante questo sia il più semplice dei Capitoli della saga -.
è stata dura, ma alla fine ce l'ho fatta a completarlo senza morire^^ Ho dovuto giocarci, la media di un'ora al giorno, per oltre 3 settimane XD
