Metroid Dread: Part 6: Overwhelming Kraid with the Varia Suit
Now that Samus can finally become a Morph Ball again, she can now further her sci-fi quest through ZDR.
Besides those huge transportation terminals, Samus can also reach different areas of ZDR by accessing teleportals. I find and use one early on in this video to go from Cataris back to a different area in Artaria.
Through this new part of Artaria, you can use the Morph Ball to go into new rooms and maybe even pick up more items.
----------
You eventally use another thermal switch, but then... it wrecks everything! The destruction does let you access a new route, but you have to be careful not to get burned.
Soon after you escape this, you'll reach another new Chozo Statue... Orange energy serges through Samus, as the item transforms her Power Suit into the orange, red, white & yellow Varia suit! This was the suit Samus attempted to explore ZDR in before she was attacked by that malicious Chozo.
In this game, the Varia Suit reduces the damage Samus takes, increases the strength of her Melee Counter, and makes her invincible in high temperature rooms. However, she still cannot make any direct contact with lava, nor can she enter into any extremely-low temperature rooms.
You will use this to enter into the following burning room, have it lead you back to the teleportal to Cataris... since the small pathways to the sides of it are now blocked by debris.
-----------
Use the Varia Suit to travel into through the super-hot rooms that Cataris contains. After a little while... You'll find another Gobbler blocking a door. Another boss is coming up...
Destroy it, and then use the Morph Ball to enter a tunnel, then you'll forced through the floor...
Samus falls into a new room, where she is greeted by a very familiar guest...
IT'S KRAID! At first, Samus aimed her Arm Cannon at the beast, but one he fully came into view, she dropped her guard.
She was not amused that Kraid had appeared to fight her, again, for the third time since her first two battles against him in Planet Zebes. As hard as Kraid roars right at her face, Samus just nonchalantly blasts him into mouth.
Time to get rid of him for good!
----------
Kraid was mostly restrained, at first, but that doesn't stop him from attacking you. He'll use his signature flying claws, but he'll also vomit deadly flesh balls at you.
What you have to do is take the hint from the initial cutscene and blast him in the mouth. Use a Missile or Charge Beam at his face to make him roar, then keep blasting his open mouth with those same weapons.
Eventually, Kraid breaks the floor you're standing on, making you fall very close to the lava. Samus then discovers the disgusting pink hole Kraid has in his belly...
If you keep shooting that "bellybutton", Kraid will be forced to cover it, but then shoot spikes from his holes and cause a magnet surface to drop.
Take the surface to reach his face and keep setting him up the same way you did before. If he tries to punch, you need to get out of the way, but if he tries to smack you, use the Melee Counter and engage in a fully-interactive shootdown for loads of additional damage!
After Kraid takes enough damage, Samus will then use some cool acrobatics to climb Kraid and make her way to the other side of the room. The damage on him was starting to set in pretty hard.
In a final act of desperation, Kraid shoots another spike at Samus, of which the bounty hunter dodges in a snap. All Kraid could do left was sink back into the lava.
And that was the very last of the Space Pirates.
(There is another way to attack and kill Ridley, but this can only happen if you managed to pick up the Morph Ball Bombs earlier than the game "intended".)
----------
After traveling out of that room and getting into another one with another Chozo Statue, Samus against the Diffusion Beam. This allows her Charge Beam to explode on impact, allowing her to hit certain objects through walls.
Beyond this, I soon find yet another teleportal that bring Samus back into Dairon at a new room. Follow its path, and you will eventually reach a new ADAM room.
ADAM explains that Dairon is a biological-research facility. There are two generators in this region, and Samus already reactivated one of them. It was time to find the other one.
