I haven't done a Metroid game in a while, so here's one from Metroid Fusion! This game was really hype when it came out along with Metroid Prime in 2002. I think being a really linear game kind of hurt it in the long run, but I always thought it was a fun game to blast through anyway!
For this one I dusted off my Korg Electribe 2 Sampler and beat my head against my desk for about a week mixing it and this is what came out! I used the Microbrute with it to lay the foundation of the song but something was missing, so I filled in the gaps with the Microfreak and was satisfied with what I came up with. All the drum parts and the low bass notes are from the Electribe. I'll admit, it's a hell of a lot easier to mix and get results from my drum plugins in Renoise, but using the Electribe is really fun and I like all the effects and cool hands-on stuff it can do. I also had fun using it with the Zoom Multistomp and have realized that the compression fx on it can be really useful and I got some unexpected stuff out of it.
I hope you guys like it and we'll see when I use the Electribe again! I haven't used it for a VGM cover since my Quake one in October! As always thanks for clicking and checking out my channel!
