Metroid Prime 2 Echoes Spiderball Guardian
This is the worst boss in the game, have to just get that out of the way, it's irritatingly easy to die, and dying sends you all the way back to the last time you saved before entering the Sanctuary Temple, since once you enter the Temple area you can't get out without Spiderball.
Frustrations aside, we start from inside the Energy Control Station of the Temple, head out into the larger room beyond and scan the new enemies hanging on the bottoms of the walkways. Take them down by Seeker Missiling both of their legs so they don't knock us down while scaling the room. Once at the top grapple over to the Cobalt door, scan it and use the door beyond. In this open air area, hop to the far floating platform, turn around and scan the device on the other platform to activate the kinetic cannon and use it to get to the other side.
From here move through the door and pull out the scanner as now and only now is when we can scan the Spiderball Guardian. Once scanned move into the Morphball tunnel and prepare to fight. The object of the 4 phases of this fight is to bomb the guardian, each time it will become faster with a larger damaging field around it, until the field becomes green, it will slow down considerably and a bomb slot in the current area will become active/reachable, and the guardian will goes the fastest it has before ramming into the electric gates to damage it. The 1st, 2nd , and 3rd phases aren't too terrible and there is some healing leading into the 4th and final phase, However the 4th phase of the fight has 3 phases by itself. We must get the guardian to it's slow green field state then must get to 1, then 2, then all 3 bomb slots in the area before it recovers and resets everything. We can extend our time to get to the bomb slots but bombing the guardian again, but this comes with the danger of getting hit but the large green field, but that's better than having to fully get it back to green and redo whichever bomb slots again.
Once the Spiderball Guardian is defeated head up to the hole it died in front of and retrieve our prize; The Spiderball! Allowing us to use the magnetic tracks to get to locations otherwise unreachable.
